the Creators of "Don't Panic!"
|
David Brown, author of "Don't Panic, You Can Do This!" has
been involved with health and safety education for more than 15 years.
Currently he is a Health and Safety Instructor for the American Red
Cross in Syracuse, NY. In this capacity David trains other first aid
professionals to become health and safety instructors. As an adjunct instructor in the Exercise Science Department of Syracuse University, David also teaches undergraduate courses in Health and Safety. In addition, through seminars, lectures and local training sessions, David teaches skills in First Aid and CPR to a wide diversity of people in the community. David is a native and current resident of central New York state with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Psychology from SUNY, Binghamton, and a Masters degree in Liberal Studies from SUNY Empire State College. It was David's long experience with standard first aid resources and materials, along with his wife Sigrid's idea to design a manual that would take virtually anyone step-by-step through first aid emergencies, that led him to author "Don't Panic, You Can Do This!"
Sigrid Brown,
David's wife, provided the inspiration for "Don't Panic, You Can Do
This!" She brings over 15 years experience to the project as a
counselor and instructor working with developmentally disabled people of
all ages with assistance in communication, social, financial and daily
living skills.
