Don't Panic You Can Do This

About the Creators of
"Don't Panic!"

David Brown, author of "Don't Panic, You Can Do This!" has been involved with health and safety education for more than 15 years. Currently he is a Health and Safety Instructor for the American Red Cross in Syracuse, NY. In this capacity David trains other first aid professionals to become health and safety instructors.
As an adjunct instructor in the Exercise Science Department of Syracuse University, David also teaches undergraduate courses in Health and Safety.
In addition, through seminars, lectures and local training sessions, David teaches skills in First Aid and CPR to a wide diversity of people in the community.
David is a native and current resident of central New York state with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Psychology from SUNY, Binghamton, and a Masters degree in Liberal Studies from SUNY Empire State College.
It was David's long experience with standard first aid resources and materials, along with his wife Sigrid's idea to design a manual that would take virtually anyone step-by-step through first aid emergencies, that led him to author "Don't Panic, You Can Do This!"

Sigrid Brown, David's wife, provided the inspiration for "Don't Panic, You Can Do This!" She brings over 15 years experience to the project as a counselor and instructor working with developmentally disabled people of all ages with assistance in communication, social, financial and daily living skills.
Originally from northern New York state, Sigrid's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and a Masters degree in Human Services Counseling from SUNY Oswego. She is also a volunteer with the Syracuse, NY chapter of the American Red Cross.
Drawing on her experience working on communication skills with the developmentally disabled, along with her husband's desire to author an easy-to-use first aid guide, Sigrid conceived a format that can take nearly anyone step-by-step through most common first aid emergencies. She also served as the manuscript's primary editor.

As a quick first aid emergency reference, "Don't Panic, You Can Do This!" is truly a marriage of David's first aid knowledge and experience, and Sigrid's innovative approach to communicating potentially life-saving information.

Incidentally, Dave and Sigrid named the company
that publishes "Don't Panic!" Firehouse Press because
its headquarters is located in a refurbished 1920s vintage antique firehouse on Harold Street in Syracuse, NY.
